The Third Annual Policeman's Ball is a glamorous evening celebrating the tremendous work of the APD.  Each and every day the men and women of the Atlanta Police Department go to work and put themselves in harm's way to protect us and our community, and the Ball gives our community leaders an opportunity to show their support and appreciation to the APD.  The 2008 Ball was held on May 3 at the Georgia Aquarium. 

The Fifth Annual Crime is Toast Breakfast will be held on September 16, 2008 at the Georgia World Congress Center in the Thomas B. Murphy Ballroom.

The sixth annual Atlanta’s Finest 5k was held on May 17, 2008 at Piedmont Park. The 2008 5K was a great success with more than 800 runners and 200 members of the police department participating.  It was a fun way for the whole families and the whole community to support the Police Foundation in its vision of Atlanta as a safe city that is good for people, good for business and good for life. 

The annual "Link Up Against Crime" golf tournament is a benefit to support the Atlanta Police Foundation.  The 2008 tournament will be held on October 27, 2008 at the Atlanta Country Club.   

Participants in the second annual Drive & Shoot on November 15, 2007, were able to experience training designed for Atlanta police officers, including firearms training simulator, obstacle course and training with SWAT.  Plans are being made for the third annual Drive & Shoot to be held on November 6, 2008.

The Atlanta Police Foundation has a goal of increasing the number of City employed police officers living inside the City of Atlanta by 5% every year for the next three years.  Currently only 22% of Atlanta’s police officers live within the City limits. This event is just one strategy APF is using to increase homeownership among Atlanta Police Department officers in Atlanta.
