Crime Stoppers Atlanta is announcing a $45,000 reward in the case of slain bartender John Henderson.  Henderson was gunned down execution style early Wednesday morning at popular Atlanta area restaurant, The Standard. Crime Stoppers Atlanta needs the help of the public in identifying the four gunmen responsible for this violent crime.  Due to the heinous nature of the crime, the reward pool is being increased.  In most cases the maximum reward amount is $2,000.
 
“Whenever there is a heinous crime of this nature, citizens naturally want to do their part to help,” says Dave Wilkinson, CEO of the Atlanta Police Foundation. “Crime Stoppers allows them to have a voice.  Citizens can either phone in information anonymously or donate to the reward pool.” 
 
Chief Richard Pennington is asking for the public’s help.  “We are following all possible leads at this time, but believe there are citizens out there that can help us identify these suspects.  By calling Crime Stoppers citizens can get that information to us without fear of reprisal”, stated Pennington.
 
Since the inception of Crime Stoppers Atlanta in January of 2007, 98 cases have been solved made thanks to tips provided by the people of Atlanta. Tipsters have helped to remove murderers, robbers, rapists and fugitives from the streets of Atlanta.
 
Launched in early 2007 as a program of the Atlanta Police Foundation in collaboration with metro Atlanta law enforcement agencies including the Atlanta Police Department, the nationally recognized Crime Stoppers Program crime prevention model provides an avenue for citizens to anonymously report information on criminal activity to local law enforcement in return for a reward for those tips leading to an arrest and indictment. The program has had enormous success nationwide, as evidenced by an impressive 95% national conviction rate.
